Well Done the Year 5 and 6 Basketball Team! They showed some amazing skills and some great 3 pointers!
Yr 5/6 Netball Competition
Well done to the Year 5/6 girls who took part in a recent cluster festival at Witton Park High School.
It was a terrific team effort and the girls finished in second place.
The Cross-Country Team
A selection of Year 5 and 6 pupils went and represented St Michael with St John at QUEGs playing fields in their first ever cross-country race. After a very muddy start, children tried their best and fought hard to get as high up the field as they could. A massive well done to all the children who competed, many of them who had never competed at a running event before. There was definitely some tired legs the next day!

Year 5/6 Tag-Rugby Competition
The Year 6, Lions and Leopard, represented SMSJ in the annual tag-rugby competition. They made the staff watching very proud, as they fought hard to try to win as many matches as they could. Unfortunately we didn't progress to the next stage of the competition but all the children that attended had an excellent time.

Sports Hall Athletics
Over January, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have competed in the Sports Hall Athletics Competitions at Witton Park Academy. The Year 6 team started the ball rolling and finished in joint third. There were excellent performances by the whole team and in particular by the boy's javelin team, where they had three of the top throws in the whole competition.
The Year 4 team competed the following week and there was amazing team spirt to cheer every member of their team across the line. Overall we finished 7th. To end the Sports Hall Athletics season, pupils from years 1 and 2 went and represented St Michael with St John. Staff commented on the wonderful performances of all the children in the team, and out of the 8 schools competing, St Michael with St John finish an excellent 3rd.
