Autumn Term 1st half 2017

In English we are learning to:

  • Read and perform stories with repetitive patterns.
  • Begin to write sentences with capital letters and full stops.
  • Talk about the stories we are reading with understanding.

In Mathematics we are learning to:

  • Read and write numbers to 20.
  • Recite numbers forwards and backwards to 50.
  • Recall addition and subtraction facts for each number up to 10.

Our learning challenge questions are about houses & homes

In Science we are learning about our bodies and senses and will be finding out about the different materials (plastic, metal, wood, etc) that may be used to build a house.

As artists the children will be sorting fabrics and threads, before making collages using different shades and textures of paper.

In History we will be asking "What was life like when our grandparents were children?” We will be looking at artefacts from Blackburn Museum and are planning a visit to discover how objects in our homes have changed in the last 100 years.
