Coronavirus Message from the Head Girl 2020
Message from the previous Head Girl, 2019-2020
When I first found out school was temporarily closing down due to COVID-19, I was quite upset as I had revised for my SAT’s exams but they got cancelled. Also, all Year 6 treats for the end of the year were too. I was a bit confused because I didn’t really know if I was going to see some of my friends again or if I was going back to school
During my time in lockdown, I have been baking, gardening, making crafts and rainbows, riding my bike and I have had a barbecue. Additionally, I have been doing my homework and trying a lot of new activities. I really missed everyone in school but I have been doing online mosque using Zoom.
For the past few weeks, I have had to go into school with several other children. It has been really different as all the tables are spread out, you can only play/touch your siblings and there are no toys out at playtime. We are not allowed to leave our bubble and in the afternoon, we get an extra break as well as doing some arts and crafts. It is really weird with everybody not being there and it feels quite strange.
All of the School Council, Ethos Team, Eco-Warriors and Pupil Leadership Team have had to miss out on nearly half of their year in an important role. This really disappoints me because I’m Head Girl and I’ve had to too!
Some of you might really want to get back to school, but unfortunately, our schools aren’t ready to fit more people in. I hope you all stay safe at home and have a brilliant time in lockdown wherever you are. Hopefully we will all be back together soon!
