Lesson 1

 

Phonics

Talk to your grown up about times when we need to be quiet and times when we can be loud e.g. we need to be quiet when someone is sleeping or when we are listening to someone read and we can be loud when we are running around outside.

Lesson 2

 

Phonics

We have been working on body percussion and using our bodies to make different sounds.

  • Listen to the song and try to join in with the different actions Body Percussion Can't Stop the Feeling
  • Get your grown up to make different sounds with different parts of their body with the body eg clap, stamp, click, tap on the legs etc.  Repeat this several times and join in with your grown-up.
  • Close your eyes and get a grown-up to make one of the sounds you have been practising. 
  • Open your eyes and try to work out which action is was that your grown-up did.
  • Repeat this several times for different actions.

  • Think of two actions that you can do to make a repeating rhythm and show your grown up eg 2 stamps and a jump.
  • Can your grown up join in with what you are doing?
  • Repeat this several times for different actions.

Lesson 4

 

Literacy

  • Ask your grown up to look at some pictures of you, them and any other members of your family.
  • Talk about what was happening in the picture.  Was it for a special celebration or did something exciting happen?  You could look at picture of;
    • A birthday
    • A wedding
    • Eid
    • A holiday
    • A party
    • An anniversary
    • Any time when you have celebrated something.
  • If it is a picture of you, can you remember what was happening?

 

Phonics

Today we will learn about Rhythm and Rhyme.

  • Listen to the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear'. Can you join in with any of the repeated phrases that are in the story?  Click here: Brown Bear, Brown Bear
  • Can you go on a 'Rhyming Hunt' to find at least one object that rhymes with the words
