2022-2023

In October 2022 we donated more food items to Blackburn Foodbank.  We donated a van full - the equivalent in weight to a big gorilla!

We also invited Pudsey Bear into our school!  He came in along with Radio Lancashire!  Our Comms Team welcomed him into the school before he joined the rest of the school in the hall.

2021-2022

In 2021-2022, we donated lots of food for Blackburn Foodbank - donating the equivalent in weight to 2 baby elephants and 1 gazelle!

We have completed a 'Sponsored Sleep Out' where we slept in our homes but out of our beds.  All money raised (over £600!) was donated to Nightsafe - see the Nightsafe tab for more information.

On Friday 18th March we supported Comic Relief, raising over £400!  We came to school dressed as a real-life superhero, we bought red noses and some of us even took part in a 'Red Nose and Spoon Race'!  Please see below for photos!

Throughout the year, different charities hold fundraising events.  SMSJ School Council will choose which charities they feel we should support and we will decide on the best ways in which we can support them.

Red Nose and Spoon Race!

2020-2021

Last year we supported Children In Need by coming to school in non uniform on Friday 13th November.  We also invited Pudsey Bear in for a virtual visit with Steve Royal (from last year's Britain's Got Talent) through Radio Lancashire.

In February last year, we joined in with 'Inside Out Day' where we wore items of clothing inside out to help us to think about people who may look fine on the outside, but inside they may not feel OK.

We also raised money for Comic Relief.  We came in non-uniform and created a school comedy reel, full of our favourite jokes!

On Monday 10th May, we supported the NSPCC Number Day by donating money and enjoying a whole morning of Maths Fun!
