Religious Education

Welcome to the Religious Education Page!

In our school we teach Religious Education using both the Blackburn with Darwen Agreed Syllabus for RE (2011) and the Blackburn Diocesan Syllabus for RE (2013) . Our syllabus is by law, broadly Christian, but it also promotes learning about other major world religions including Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism and Sikhism.

We believe that teaching Religious Education helps our pupils to learn about the values and beliefs of people around the world. The pupils reflect on what it means to have a faith; developing their own spiritual knowledge and understanding. We help the children to learn from religion and about religion. These attitudes are for life not just for school and equip our children for life in our town and the wider world.  If you would like any more information please see the links below or contact the school.
