Our Chair of Governors is Mrs Bhawna Patel
Please read her profile below to find out more:
I am employed by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council within the Housing, Localities and Prevention Department. The aim of our adult learning provision is to improve work prospects and wellbeing. My role within this department, as the Skills Development Officer/Tutor, is to help develop a high standard community learning programme, that supports individual adult’s educational needs. I also work collaboratively with local organisations and local schools to ensure we support or engage with every adult in reaching their educational goals or their personal wellbeing.
Outside my full time employment, I am the chair of Governors at St Michael with St CE Primary John School, a Governor at Lammack Primary School and a member of the Governors Forum for Blackburn with Darwen.
Nicholas Heale
Foundation Governor & Priest-in-Charge of St Michael’s Church
I have responsibility for the spiritual life of three churches in north and east Blackburn, including St Michael’s (on Palm Street) which has the link with our school.
Part of my job is to lead the religious life of the churches; part of my job is to care for the good of the wider communities in the part of town where I live and work. Here in our part of Blackburn that includes supporting our school (as well as a similar involvement at St Thomas’ School in Audley) and trying to nurture good relationships between the Christian community in my care and our neighbours. As someone of faith and of prayer, I seek especially to foster a friendship with my Muslim neighbours, and to do so as a small contribution towards kindness and peace between us all.
Peace be with you.
