The Bethany Project
The Bethany Project
The Bethany Project are a small team of Christians (located in Tanzania) working together to help the most vulnerable children in a rural area of East Africa (Tanzania). Bethany's aim is to help the most underprivileged, deprived and vulnerable members of society, especially orphaned children, providing education when possible. Members of our School Council prepared a presentation for the whole school to find out more about them. As a result of this, children and staff throughout the school agreed that this is a charity worthy of our support.
Please watch this presentation, written and designed by some of our School Councillors.
Three children and the headteacher from the Bethany Project visited us on 28th September 2023!
Here are our Comms Team holding a Collective Worship all about the problems the Bethany Project are having with hippos!
Graham came in to school as one of our Courageous Advocates of the half term!
We held a Chocorola for the Bethany Project. With the money from this, and our class collection boxes, we raised £300! Graham came in to collect the cheque.
Letters to the Bethany Project
In November, some of our children wrote letters to the children at the Bethany Project. We knew that Graham, one of the founders of the project, was flying over to visit them so we decided to send some things with him. Please see below to find out what we sent.
Along with some letters, photos and pictures, Year 3/4 Falcons also created a video of 'A Day in the Life of Year 3/4'.
Here's what we sent to the children at the Bethany Project.

In December 2019, we had the pleasure of the Bethany Family joining us in our school. The children danced and sang for us and also showed us a little bit about what life is like in Tanzania. Many of the children and staff who were lucky enough to see them were moved by what they learnt.
We had a non-uniform day to raise money for them. Now we'd like to do even more for them - raise more money for them AND raise awareness of them to encourage others to support them too!

Knowledge and Understanding of the World Day
On Thursday 27th May 2021, our whole school held a Knowledge and Understanding of the World Day. This day was based on our school values and how these link to the Bethany Family. We learnt lots about the Bethany Project and the country they are in - Tanzania.
Take a look at some photos of our children having a wonderful day!
