What are we learning this half term?

Summer 2

This half term in Year 1 we will be learning...

Collective Worship

Our value for this half term is 'Service'. Throughout this half term, we will be listening to and responding to a range of bible stories that teach Christians about the importance of our value.

Don't forget to complete your value tasks! They could be included in our next newsletter and be displayed in our worship area!

Reading Eggs

Reading eggs is an extremely useful tool to improve our reading skills! I will be setting work to complete on here so please ensure you have your log in details (in your reading record). If you cannot access it or haven't got your log in details then please contact me using the message button on our main page.

This half term, we will be accessing Reading Eggs on a weekly basis. The aim is for every child to complete a minimum of 5 reading sessions per week.

Most of these sessions will be completed in school, however it would be extremely beneficial for children to be accessing it from home on a weekly basis as well.  The aim of this programme is to improve children's reading and comprehension skills, by quickly adapting to meet the exact needs of every child.

Purple Mash

Purple Mash is used in our Computing lessons. Your purple mash log in has been stuck in your reading record, however, if you find it is not there, please contact me and I will get your child's details sent to you.

This half term we will be writing stories with a fantasy setting in the style of NO-Bot as part of our 'Robots' topic. We will then be writing recounts and learning poems by heart. Our Grammar focus this half term is using the suffix's -ing, -es and -ed.

This half term we will be covering the following areas in our Maths lessons...

Place Value (within 100)

Measurement: Money

Measurement: Time
