Working Scientifically

At SMSJ, we believe that exploration and curiosity is an integral part of Science and enables children to make sense of the world around them. We provide stimulating, child focused opportunities for the children to learn Science through practical investigations. We found, it allows children to use their oracy skills to explore and to question the mysteries that Science has to offer.

Working Scientifically is carried out throughout every Science lesson and the 5 ways of working scientifically are:

• Classification and Identification
• Carrying out a fair test
• Observing over time
• Pattern Seeking
• Using secondary sources of information
