Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means protecting children from maltreatment, preventing the impairment of their health or development, ensuring they grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, and taking action to enable all children to have the best possible outcomes.
At St Michael with St John Church of England Primary School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is our highest priority and is everyone's responsibility.
We are committed to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment where children are respected, valued and listened to. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, and we work closely with parents, carers and partner agencies to promote the wellbeing and safety of every child.
Our safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed at least annually by the Governing Body, or sooner if required to reflect changes in legislation or statutory guidance.
